Soccer fan is getting shirty

A Norwegian footballer was due to cycle through Sheffield United’s ground today to ride away with a signed Blades football shirt for an international charity campaign.

Bjorn Heidenstrom is cycling from Oslo to South Africa, collecting shirts from clubs along the way.

They will be sewn together to create the world’s largest signed football shirt to wave in the wind at next year’s World Cup in South Africa.

Volkswagen to host and sponsor Junior Masters

Volkswagen of America, the official automotive partner of Major League Soccer, launched the Volkswagen Junior Masters, a 20-country, international youth soccer tournament.

Created by Volkswagen AG, the international competition is the first of its kind in the US. One team will have the honor of representing the U.S. (and will enjoy an all expenses paid trip) at the Volkswagen Junior World Master Finals in May 2010 prior to the FIFA World Cup in South Africa.
