A Norwegian footballer was due to cycle through Sheffield United’s ground today to ride away with a signed Blades football shirt for an international charity campaign.
Bjorn Heidenstrom is cycling from Oslo to South Africa, collecting shirts from clubs along the way.
They will be sewn together to create the world’s largest signed football shirt to wave in the wind at next year’s World Cup in South Africa.

The 25th annual Rotary Club of Mount Pleasant Soccer Classic will be held Saturday at Blackbaud Stadium on Daniel Island.
More than 30 teams will participate in the tournament, which is sponsored by Regions Bank. Teams from Academic Magnet, Ashley Hall, Ashley Ridge, Berkeley, Bishop England, Burke, Coastal Christian, Colleton County, First Baptist, Fort Dorchester, Goose Creek, Hanahan, North Charleston, Pinewood Prep, Porter-Gaud, Stratford, Summerville, Wando and West Ashley will compete. The first match is at 7 a.m. and the event will conclude at approximately 7 p.m. Each match will last 40 minutes.
Admission is $3, and children wearing soccer jerseys will get in free.
