Clubs in the English Premier League spent £450 million in the summer transfer window, down from the record $500 million spent last year, according to a report by the Sports Business Group at Deloitte.
The BBC reports that, while the clubs matched the £215 million spent on transfers within the Premier League, they spent $95 million less on transfers from overseas teams, which Deloitte partly attributed to Sterling’s weakness and the new 50 per cent tax rate in the UK.
